The implementation on mybricks.net relies on the fact that the header will shrink. It leverages the fact that it can hide the shadow element behind the header and simply shortening the header "reveals" the shadow. Without the header shortening to "reveal" the shadow, something else has to do the "revealing", hence my implementation :)
